A lip combo is a set of two or three lip products, usually a liner, a lipstick or stain and a gloss, chosen to be worn together so that the finished lip is one look, not one product.

The term comes from TikTok, where creators film a liner, a colour and a gloss applied in sequence and name the exact products used. Glossy reports that searches for lip combo rose 97.5 percent, that TikTok accounts for 99.9 percent of the conversation, and that one creator series by @glambyaddie reached 50 million views (Glossy). The Zoe Report calls lip combos the most popular lip content format on the platform (The Zoe Report).
A combo usually follows one order. Liner defines the edge and often fills the whole lip as a base. A lipstick, stain or tint gives the main colour. A gloss or balm on top adds shine and blends the layers. The mass anchors of the trend are NYX Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Stain and the Sacheu Stay-N peel-off liner, and NYX sells more than 120 liner shades to feed it (Glossy).
The trend moved sales. Circana data reported by Glossy show tinted lip treatments growing more than 60 percent and lip liner sales up 28 percent year to date in October 2025, in a year when prestige makeup as a whole rose 1 percent (Glossy). Lip liner grew 60 percent between 2022 and 2024, from US$138.9 million to US$223 million, with the lip combo trend named as the driver.
Well-known combos have names. Brown liner with red gloss is cherry cola. Nude liner with clear gloss is the 90s lip. A cool mauve liner with a violet-tinted gloss is the combo India Anaïs calls violet cola.
